To enhance the utility of information yielded by
Functional Tumor Cell Profiling, Dr. Weisenthal makes available a separately-ordered, written
interpretation of testing results.
Board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Weisenthal is
able to apply perspective gained over 25 years of providing Functional Tumor Cell
Profiling services to hundreds of individual cancer patients and their
physicians for use in optimizing therapy selection.
An individual assay interpretation generally runs from two to four pages
in length, not including enclosures, and includes such information as the
condition of the specimen upon receipt, the behavior of the tumor cells during
and after exposure to the various chemotherapy agents, drug activities,
including synergies or antagonisms observed, and promising agents or drug
combinations that present themselves not only on the basis of in vitro activity
but also from what is known about the activities of each drug as reported in the
medical literature. Dr. Weisenthal
frankly discusses conditions pertaining to the specimen quality, to the various tests
that were performed upon it, and to individual drug behaviors so that important
treatment decisions are made on the basis of the fullest possible understanding
of the nature and quality of data provided in the profiling report.
Interpretations often include literature citations and/or abstracts and
journal reprints relevant to specific test results.
